What will tomorrow bring?

You think you know the answer to that question. I can almost hear you thinking “Tomorrow, I’m going to work and then I’m going to see a movie” or “I’m meeting with a potential investor and this time next month, I should be getting my business off the ground” or “I’m getting married in a year’s time”. But you really don’t know now, do you?

No. Not really.

You hope. You wish. You see the vision that your mind has created based on your dreams and aspirations. You plan. You plot. You try to get everything aligned, even the stars if you could. But then, tomorrow comes and it’s completely different than you thought or expected, different than you wanted. For some, tomorrow doesn’t even come…

So, why do you let a tomorrow that you do not know determine the today that you are living in? Why do you put off things that you can do today because you think there’s a tomorrow and it can wait? Why do you stop yourself from doing what you really want to today because you’re hopeful for a tomorrow that you’re not even sure of? What if tomorrow doesn’t come?

Now, what if on the other hand, you just lived?

Yep. What if you lived in the present, in the now? What if you just took life each day at a time, starting with today? Remember, today was tomorrow yesterday. And no matter how much you wondered about it, no matter how much you planned it, chances are it didn’t go the exact way that you imagined. Maybe something came up and made your carefully written To-Do list completely redundant. Maybe someone didn’t quite react to your meticulously planned surprise in the way that you hoped. Just go with the flow.

Kiss that boy (or girl), the one you’ve always wondered about kissing.

Go someplace new, somewhere you’ve always dreamed of.

Let your hair down – cut it all off if you feel like it. It’ll grow again.

Fall in love – hopelessly, helplessly in love, cos that’s when it feels the most awesome. There’s no guarantee that you won’t get hurt but at least you’ll know what it feels like to truly love.

Laugh like an idiot because something is really funny. You never know, the sound of your laughter might just be what that special someone loves about you.

Explore your passions, the things that make you insanely happy. Don’t postpone them to a later date. You might never do them.

Have a lot of fun, and few regrets. Even if you waited till tomorrow, you would still make mistakes.

You certainly do not want to look back on your life and realize that while you were busy planning, you forgot to live…

“Yesterday is but a dream,
Tomorrow is only a vision.
But today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, and every tomorrow a vision of hope.”
